Buttner, Lindegaard and Smalling on Rio Ferdinand

United Uncovered dedicated a whole issue to Rio Ferdinand. Rio was also a guest editor.

Of the things that I liked was an interview where Lindegaard, Smalling and Buttner spoke of how they know Rio Ferdinand. According to the newsletter, this is one part of the issue that Rio had no power over as a guest editor.

I didn't know Lindegaard was this talkative!

NOTE: Put yeah after every three words from Buttner.

QN: Buttner on if Rio helped him to settle when he joined MUFC:

Buttner: Yeah, Rio was one one of the guys who did this. I think the whole team, yeah, give me a good welcome to the club. And I know Rio now one year, yeah, and what I can say he love to joke. And if you see now in the tour he is always with his camera waiting for things to do and aah...
Lindegaard: Attention, attention, attention, attention...
Buttner: Yeah, but he is a good guy. On the field he help everyone and he like to joke.

QN: How do you feel when you are on the goal and you got Rio in front of you?

Lindegaard: ... he never panics and he is good with the ball on his feet and he always finds constructive solutions up the field. Again he wants to be in attention, in a sense he wants the ball. (Looks at Smalling as if talking to him alone) He often thinks he won the game pretty much on his own...
Smalling: Yeah, yeah.
Lindegaard: When we come after a victory...
Smalling: And if we don't win it's often somebody else's faulty.
Lindegaard: Yeah.

QN: How was Rio after his goal against Swansea? (the one he scored on SAF's last ever match at Old Trafford).

Buttner: It's all we had to hear that month. He still talks about it...
Lindegaard: Oh My God!
Buttner: 'Have you seen my goal? Unbeliavable!'
Lindegaard: 'I won that game. Can you believe that?'

QN: Is there anything that Rio does that annoys you? This is your chance to tell him.

Lindegaard: I wouldn't know where to start!
Buttner: He has to leave me alone if I want to sleep, in the bus or somewhere because if I sleep he comes with the camera.
Smalling: Yeah, it's true if you do wanna sleep you should sleep. I only got here today (joining the tour) but he was already targeting people so...
Lindegaard: You are already annoyed by him. You've been with him less than twenty minutes!

QN: Any message for Rio on his testimonial?

Lindegaard: For me it's the same (as Smalling's message), just a short congratulation. May be even just congrats because otherwise he gets too high thoughts of himself.
Buttner: For me too, the same.
