Questions, Troubled Kind Evra

A group photo that managed to represent every United fan's reaction after that Saints' goal. Jones for those who couldn't watch it, Evra looks angry, that guy who couldn't believe that we conceded and had to stand and take a closer look, Rafael is hiding, De Gea looks confused and beat, that woman holding her face is definitely crying. Look closer and you'll see your reaction represented here. Kudos to manutd.com photographers for capturing this moment.

Well, at least we have Januzaj for the next five years and looks like he is on the right track. The kid was voted Man of the match against Southampton which is his second in a row! Moyes and Ed, while we are still into signatures how about getting Rooney to putting one down?

Robin is back into scoring! We can all drink to that.

As for our worries at the back, with time, Jones, Evans and De Gea might make missing Vidic, Rio and van der Sar such a hard thing to do. Rafael is his usual self, we just need someone to take over from Evra and we are ready for the future. Evans was my man of the match.

Should Fellaini get that surgery now? And Moyes was right, Rooney could use some rest. As for the subs, what was Moyes thinking?

Is Carrick speaking for us all here?
"We are frustrated and disappointed. We just needed a second goal, and we created enough but their ‘keeper made some terrific saves."
Yes, he does.

And if you are like me, confused and not knowing what to do, the Manager has something for us;
"We’re aware of what we have to do [to bounce back]. We’ll get ready to go again, starting with the next game against [Real] Sociedad."
The most burning question now is; When will we get to see Zaha, Kagawa and Chicharito? I hope soon, like this week soon.

Troubled Kind Evra

Evra is in trouble, again! What's with Evra and his international duties? From the few videos and news I hear of Evra at Man Utd he seems like a nice guy, committed, hard working and a team player. He was best friends with Park despite them not having a common language at first! That is definitely a very special person. And sometimes Tevez will join the two and make what is definitely the strangest friendships ever! How did they ever communicate?

Or just listen to Ji's father;
"When Utd have a game abroad our house becomes a gathering point. Because the parking is expensive at the airport, several players come to our house so that they can catch a ride from me to the airport. Pat (Patrice Evra), Carlito (Carlos Tevez), VDS (Edwin van der Sar), and Berba (Dimitar Berbatov) are the usual customers as well as Ji (Park Ji Sung). I always get nervous when I drive them because I'm escorting a team of superstars and their combined cost is over 40 million!! Therefore, I have to always be alert and at my best and try not to think about crashing! But Evra is always at my side cracking his usual jokes and that gets rid of any worries. When we won the EPL ,Evra was the first one to come and hug me and my wife and take a picture with us. Also, he always calls me papa. That's how close we are, like a family"

Stories of his Man United debut and how he had to buy CDs and learn about Manchester United soon after his debut. To us Red Devils, Evra is a hero, a cult hero. A legend.

But that doesn't seem to be the case with French. French pundits said some things about Evra during half time including the infamous 2010 World Cup incident. Evra decided to answer them as publicly as they accused him with a few words that should have been left unsaid. Outcome? The French Football Federation wants Evra to  explain some of his statements which include this;
"People have a good impression of me, it won't be these tramps who dirty my image. They must stop lying to the French people."
And how bossy is Evra here?
"I do not have a status in the French team, I'm just a player. Whether I have the armband or not I do my role as a Captain. I'm like that.
And to show how much he means that, Evra gave French players a Fergie's inspired hairdryer during half time as they were one down against Belarus. Results at the end of the match? French won by 4-2. And incase you are doubting the effectiveness of Evra's rants, doubt no more as Ribery explains how Evra 'inspired' them to a win.

Now I am imagining Coach Evra. Will he take that route after he is done serving in the Red Army?
