Nani's backflip, long time no see!
Sunderland lost five of their six league games this season and drew one. They have only one point with the weight of all 19 team on top of them at the BPL table. In addition to that, they have conceded 3 goals in every one of their last four matches. They have seen the back of the nets of their opponents only four times and never twice in a single match.
So far this season Manchester United have scored sixteen goals and fifteen of them are from forwards, van Persie (6), Rooney (5), Welbeck (3) and Chicharito (1). Valencia scored one too. Defenders are yet to put their names on the score sheet.
All our forwards, except for Chicharito have already recorded a double, who will take it a step further and score the first hat-trick of the season?
Rooney is still a doubt. Mid week Moyes said he was doing okay and he even thought of calling him up for Shakhtar but yesterday the manager could not provide any update as he had the press conference before seeing Rooney. Rio is also injured (groin).
Cleverley says the players are used to travelling so we should not worry about them being affected by the Shakhtar trip. He also spoke of the negative media;
"You try to block it out. If we are in this position in May, I'd be concerned but we've come back from worse than this before and I'm sure we'll be there or thereabouts. We can always do better."And for team selection this is what Moyes said;
"It's an important game we want to win. We'll pick a team that we think can get a result."Ex-Red, John O'Shea will be leading Sunderland.
Made in Brazil
MUTV shot a documentary this summer in Brazil of the Da Silva twins. It tells their story and the story is told by their family and close friends. The documentary will be aired tonight on MUTV. It's definitely a must watch for those with access.
There is a 'trailer' on manutd.com and apparently after they signed for Manchester United they moved their whole family to England!
Brazil is one of the 36 nations that have been represented in Manchester United. Young Rafael and Fabio became the 3rd and 4th Brazilians to play for United. Only Anderson (175) have played more games in a red shirt than Young Rafael (133) and Fabio (54).
Kleberson was the first Brazilian Red Devil. He made 30 appearances between 2003 and 2005.
Ando and Fabio.
Rio knows!!
Yesterday @MohdAbdulWahed tweeted Rio telling him he loves his (Rio's) defending to which Rio replied with;"you missed my last couple of games obviously. #WillDoBetter."Great to see Rio to acknowledging his poor performance and that promise of doing better is such a powerful message.
And this proves what I always try to say, when a player performs poorly they know and it probably bothers them more than it does us. Blaming and name calling is not helping, let's stand behind our boys.
Rio, the Red Soldiers are behind you.
