Dear Ashley,
I trust you are well. With four consecutive wins every UTD faithful is, now add to that two goals in two games and that is after a year since you last scored, I am sure you are so high on happiness.
I am writing this letter to apoligize to you. I am so sorry for all those bad things I said to you on social networks, on private football groups, on those private chats with my friends. And also for all those things I said whenever you appeared on my Tv screen. I am so glad you didn't hear any of it but I said them and I have to apologize.
Yes, for the past two seasons and up until two games ago you made it so hard to cheer for you but as a UTD faithful I should have stood by you, supporting you and giving you a chance and time to get your things together. I should have believed that your signing was not a mistake. No excuses, I failed you (where is Oliver Queen now?)
I remember watching a game at a local bar here and Januzaj came in as a sub. Since I watched the pre season games I was so excited and so happy for this sub but the people I was watching with were not. They started complaining and cursing Uncle Moyes for playing an 18 years old kid ahead of 'some' experienced talents on the bench. I tried to explain that it was a good decision and it didn't take long for Young Adnan to start speaking for himself. And oh boy, did he speak!
Now I know how those fans felt. Spending time trashing a player and then they start doing well and you can't celebrate without feeling like the biggest hypocrite alive! The feeling sucks! We are supposed to celebrate goals and wins whole heartedly and not wondering if anyone is looking and laughing at us.
For that I am apologizing. Sorry I trashed you, I am even more sorry that I did not believe in you. The past two games might be a new start for you or may be it is just the holiday spirit doing its magic. Either way, I will celebrate when you do well and when you don't I will still support you. And that is what I will do from now on, I promise to never trash a United player. It won't be easy I know.
After that apology, now I will go and start celebrating Ashely Young.
Good luck son, keep making us proud and most of all, keep that Red flag flying high.
Glory Glory Man United.
Regards,
Zama.
