WBA: The Aftermath

Majanga!
Rooney, Evans and Januzaj doing the walk of defeat as Big Dave looks so small!

If I thought the derby was something I needed to forget, I had second thoughts after that shocking unpredictable loss to West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford. And that what makes it even worse, it was at our very own home and it was West Brom! I don't know what hurts more, losing at home to a team that we have been beating back and forth for years or loosing at OT. The combination is killing me!

It started with Robin's injury. Then followed a number of missed chances. Then a very disappointing Rio. Is age catching up with Rio or was he just having a bad day? We don't expect him to be as quick as when he was in his mid 20s but that was one disappointing (sorry, I don't know what other word to use here) show from him.

Rio has been so good to the Red shirt and he is a Legend already. But turning 35 in November is a clear sign that time is up for him. His and Vida's will be one of the greatest partnerships at OT and probably in the world football and I feel privileged to have watched them week in week out. With Vidic turning 32 this October, time we get ready for the future.

Then there was a case of Januzaj for Kagawa sub at half time. Januzaj did good, had his moments there. Some people I have talked to criticized this move but I sincerely do not have a YES/NO vote on this. I will leave it at that.

By the way, how many of you jumped off your seats for that goal by Fellaini before you slowly returned to your seats wishing the world would open and swallow you and your seats? I know I did and those Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool fans sitting behind me had the laugh of their lives!

My man of the match was definitely Nani. He did us proud and if what it took was a five years deal, I say give him ten years! Rooney was impressive too and that free kick! When he was treated for that head injury, did someone install a software that gives him free kick magic powers?

The Aftermath!

#MOYESOUT? I was so mad at this topic especially with the fact that most of its contributors were MUFC fans. Moyes' first competitive match he won us the Community shield and started the league with a bang! He managed to lead the team into an impressive Champions league start then stepped on Liverpool as MUFC advanced to the next stage of Capital One Cup.

We lost to Liverpool, a devastating  4-1 loss to City, 7 points after 6 games and a 0 goal difference in the league. That's bad, no doubt. But considering everything else, is it bad enough for Moyes Out? We have 32 games to play in the league and the gap is 8 points.

We can't win every match, its football, we win some, we lose some. A quick fix is not the United way. Besides, a quick fix is expensive, you need 'world class' players which are not cheap. And correct me if I'm wrong, MUFC spending big at this time is just a dream we should all wake up from!

I am not happy with how we have been doing but I am not at the point of Moyes OUT yet. I think he needs time to figure out whatever it is he needs to figure out. I will give Moyes the benefit of the doubt and see where I will be in the next few months. And also because using social networks attacking players and the manager is not helping anyone at this point.

This Moyes OUT topic is way too long, feel free to add your comments and we can continue there.

Leaving you in a positive mood here are some quotes;

Anderson;
"Everyone knows United have great players and even though the situation is not easy we have to look ahead and think positive."
Buttner;
"I think we are not in crisis. We have lost three games but we have to focus in every game and we have to fight in every game to win." He also added; "Of course the crowd wants to see Manchester United winning, and the players as well. If we lose we aren't happy, we want to win as well and we have to fight in every game to win. This season starts now and we can win many games. You have to trust the players and everyone. I think we can do this as a team and we're going to win games, I'm sure."
Wayne Rooney is only 47 goals away from being the Club's top goal scorer of ALL TIME. The record to break is Sir Bobby Charlton's who has this to say;
"I'll lose no sleep over it at all if Wayne beats my record. It will be something else for the club to be proud of. And he can buy the drinks!"
Before getting to Sir Bobby, Rooney has to get through Denis Law with 35 goals. Apparently, Denis has seen this coming for years;
"I wasn't surprised to see Wayne reach 200 goals for United. I said years ago that as long as he stayed fit he would become the highest goal scorer and I have no doubt he'll break the record."

Finally, ready or not, Shakhtar Donetsk are coming for us in two days! I hope on Thursday I don't have to do a post that will require an overtime on the internet to get some positive last words! But if I have to, I will.

Glory Glory Man United.
