One Last try

We all remember that Becks goal. But what we didn't know is the fact that Sir Alex was ready to take him off right before the ball went in.

After he tried to score a similar goal and missed, Sir Alex turned to Brian Kid who was his assistant and said;

"If he tries that again he, is off."

 Minutes later, Becks tries again and this time it's a goal. Kidd turns to Sir Alex and told him;

"We'll have to take him off."

How OLD is Ryan Giggs?

With King Eric. Cantona retired in 1997 when he was 30. He is now an actor and movie director.
 



With Paul Ince and Bryan Robson. Ince retired in 2007 (at 40yrs old) and is now managing Blackpool while Robson retired in 1997 (at 39yrs old)and is now global ambassador for Manchester United.






With Beckham. Becks retired in May 2013 at the age of 38 and is now enjoying being a celebrity.



With Liverpool's Jamie Carragher. Carragher went pro in 1996 and retired in 2013 at the age of 35. Giggs started in 1991 and just made a man of the match contender performance two days before his 40th birthday.



With ex Gooner Vieira. Vieira retired in 2011 at age 34 and is now managing Noisy Neighbors' Reserves.
 

With current team mates, Jesse Lingard (20) and Wilfried Zaha (21). Giggs was already a decorated professional players when these two were born.
 

With current teammate Adnan Januzaj (18). If Giggs had a son at 22 he would be 18 by now (teammates???).

New era and new rules... Yaaaay

At last we have an official Manchester United twitter account. Was launched yesterday and is quickly approaching 500K followers. With MUFC being the most popular football club in the world, I can confidently say, Move over Bieber and Gaga, we have a new Twitter Ruler!

@MUFCTanzania asked how long it will take for @ManUtd to reach 1M followers, I said TWO days. And I am still standing by my answer.

The account is pretty decent. A few first tweets and we can all see that we are in for the ride of our lives! The tweets are fresh, up to date and not just some boring stats and quotes!

So, should we expect the return of Zam Persie? Especially with the fact that @Persie_Official was the first account @ManUtd followed? By the way, they are not following Rooney and Rio YET! I can already see a new chapter in the Rooney madness once 'media' get hold of this useless info.

With this account, stalking keeping up with Manchester United has never been easier! Like right now I know that Moyes and other senior officials visited the King of Thailand.

4. Mikael Sylvester

Silvestre signed for United when he was only 22 and he was so ready that he made his debut the next day against Liverpool. Silvestre was very loyal that even when the club told him he can leave in 2006 as he was not getting enough starters he chose to stay and fight for his number. Again in 2008, Bordeaux were ready to sign him but he decided to stay and finish his contract with MUFC.

How did we award this loyal Red Soldier after 10years of sevice, 361 appearance and 10 goals? Well, how about 11 winners medals; 5 Premiership, 2 Community shield, 1 FA cup, 1League cup, 1 Champions League cup and 1 Intercontinental cup.

3. David Beckham

As far as football is concerned Beckham was raised at MUFC. Starting with the Youth team at 16 and advancing to senior team in 1993. He was mostly famous for his free kicks and those bending corner kicks. But mostly important, he was part, a very important one of the 1998/1999 treble winning team. Before moving to his current club Beckham said that Manchester United is the only EPL club he could play for.

Beckham in a Red, Black and White for MUFC he made 394 appearance with 85 goals and collected a total of 15 trophies (6 Premiership, 4 Community shield, 2 FA cup, 1 Champions League, 1 Intercontinental and 1 FA Youth Cup.)

Beckham is now playing for PSG.

2. Pogba

Paul Pogba! When he was signed by MUFC in 2009, his former club La Havre claimed that we 'stole' him from them, and La Havre were also accused by Torcy for stealing him from them too. Lucky for us, a judge from FIFA cleared our name. He made 19 starts and 7 goals on his first season with the Academy. Pogba made 7 appearances for the senior team and did not score.

In 2011/2012 season SAF promoted him to senior team stating that "If we hold him back he'll leave." Well, he left after just that one season. SAF says that he refused to sign a new contract because he signed for Juventus 'a long time ago'.

Pogba has always blamed SAF for his MUFC departure. Saying he was not treated well, did not get enough chances and apparently when SAF called Scholes from retirement Pogba took that as an insult to him!
